Beginning of the story
I am Tommy, an “engineer” in a printing house.
Even though the people around me know me as an ordinary print worker, I prefer to call myself an engineer, which makes me more confident when it comes to dating and drinking.
My boss and I was met in a bar, and he asked me to help out in his printing plant. After all, I have worked in a printing factory before, so I am familiar with some printing processes. I think I can handle this job easily.
After getting a job
When it comes to the stripping blanking work, I hate that process so much that when I see cardboard that have just been die-cut, I just want to run away… Why? You don’t know, the process of manual blanking is really painful. At first, we hammer the printing the edge scraps on the cardboard bit by bit to knock it off, you know, it’s very inefficient… I’ve been hammering all day, and my arms are sore.
I reported to our boss that manual stripping is very inefficient. Orders are increasing, and my four colleagues and I are spending many hours each day blanking and stripping. We need to purchase some tools to improve our efficiency. My boss and I put forward the requirement of purchasing pneumatic waste stripping tools. Fortunately, my boss supported my idea, and with the help of pneumatic waste stripper, our work efficiency was quickly improved.
What leaders in the stripping section are thinking?
After working for half a year, I was also promoted and became the team leader of the stripping section. New problems came one after another. With the further increase of the factory’s orders, my subordinates were resigning one by one at this time, and it was getting harder and harder to recruit people, which made me very upset. I know exactly why. The stripping process produces a large amount of printing waste. The poor working conditions put them in a bad mood, they become tired, and their production efficiency is greatly affected.
Is there a better tool to make the stripping process more efficient? When I told my friend about my predicament, he asked me “Why don’t you just buy a machine?” Oh, my God, what did my boss and I miss?
Just buy a machine
I quickly learned the benefits of stripping machine through various routes, and when I saw the Blanking process done efficiently on the video, it was amazing. The stripping process was so precise and smooth that when the products were blanked out from the whole cardboard, I feel like it cured my OCD at once. The waste after blanking is so nice and easy to settle, which makes the working environment perfect.

Moreover, with the cooperation of this machine, the working efficiency is far more than that of a pneumatic waste stripper. I expect it will only take half a day to complete the work that usually takes four colleagues a whole day!
When I shared this information with my boss, my boss was also impressed, but he was concerned about the price of the machine:
“This machine is amazing. Is the stripping machine expensive?”
“I’ve done my preliminary research and I think it’s cost-effective. It’s cheaper than hiring more people.”
“It looks really good. I’m glad you found it and recommended it to me. I need to know more about it.”
Now this new waste stripping machine has come to the place where we used to deal with Blanking in our plant. It greatly improves our production efficiency. We no longer need to hire so many workers, but only need one person to complete the previous workload for 2 die cutting machines.
End of the story
With the further improvement of production efficiency of our factory, we can also receive more orders. On a happier note, I got another raise.
The next time my boss and I had a drink at the bar, he said to me,
“Tommy, you’re a great engineer!”
